Il DISIT Lab nel progetto internazionale REPLICATE finanziato da Horizon 2020

La ricerca Unifi per fare di Firenze una delle smart city più all’avanguardia in Europa. I ricercatori del DISIT Lab (Distributed Systems and Internet Technology Lab) del Dipartimento di Ingegneria dell’Informazione (DINFO), coordinati da Paolo Nesi, partecipano al progetto REPLICATE finanziato dal programma Horizon 2020.

Il progetto - che sarà sviluppato in Europa anche dalle città di San Sebastian in Spagna e di Bristol in Inghilterra - è coordinato a livello nazionale dal Comune di Firenze e vede oltre 30 partner e la collaborazione di importanti aziende internazionali come  Toshiba, Thales, NEC e di aziende italiane come Telecom, Enel, e del CNR con l’obiettivo di sviluppare tecnologie smart city nel campo dell'energia, dei trasporti e delle ICT. Il DISIT Lab si occuperà di rendere operative le tecnologie in particolare nel campo delle ICT lavorando all’automazione e alla gestione dei dati oltre che all’interfaccia delle varie applicazioni per i cittadini. 10 i milioni assegnati a Firenze per il progetto (30 complessivamente a livello europeo). Di questi, mezzo milione andrà al DISIT.

“Con REPLICATE saranno estese le tecnologie che DISIT Lab ha già sviluppato per Firenze - commenta Nesi, ordinario di Sistemi di elaborazione delle informazioni - . Come la app Km4City, che fornisce in tempo reale ai cittadini informazioni su 75000 servizi geolocalizzati, dai trasporti alla mobilità, dai beni culturali alle strutture ospedaliere, fino al meteo e alla sostenibilità ambientale. E come RESOLUTE, Icaro Cloud e Twitter Vigilance, realizzata in collaborazione con il Lamma (Laboratorio di Monitoraggio e Modellistica Ambientale per lo sviluppo sostenibile)”.

Le app sviluppate dal DISIT saranno fra l’altro al centro di un incontro che il laboratorio terrà il prossimo 13 novembre 2015 alla Scuola di Ingegneria quando, assieme al Comune di Firenze, al Lamma e a istituzioni e aziende del territorio, presenterà i risultati dei progetti realizzati nel campo delle Smart city e dei Big Data. L’incontro sarà anche l’occasione per presentare il Master del DINFO in “Big Data Analytics and Technologies for Management - MABIDA” (dettagli), che coinvolge anche i Dipartimenti di Scienze per l’economia e l’impresa, di Ingegneria dell’informazione e di Statistica, informatica, applicazioni "G. Parenti".

 

Progetto REPLICATE Horizon 2020 della Commissione Europea, Smart City (Alessandra Barbieri, Comune di Firenze) chiamato alla firma del contratto dalla Commissione Europea, vede oltre 30 partner e un’importante sperimentazione su Firenze, dove sarà utilizzata la soluzione Km4City, e in collaborazione con altre città Europee come San Sebastian e Bristol; Le innovazioni sono nel campo dell'ICT, mobilita' ed energia.

LA RIVOLUZIONE BIG DATA

Anche in Italia un vero e proprio tsunami di dati si sta abbattendo sulle imprese e sulle pubbliche amministrazioni: chi non imparerà a governare quest’onda ne sarà travolto.
L’impatto del fenomeno Big Data fa assumere valore strategico alle metodologie di analisi e alle tecnologie di elaborazione dei dati a supporto delle decisioni manageriali delle imprese e nella Pubblica Amministrazione. Il ruolo dei Big data nelle imprese risiede nella integrazione profonda tra processi informativi, organizzativi e contenuti decisionali, in tutti gli ambiti più rilevanti per l’orientamento e l’ordinamento di una attività pubblica o privata. In tal senso, una visione data-oriented deve cogliere e metabolizzare, assumendo l’ottica del decisore, le specificità delle problematiche nelle diverse aree strategiche, gestionali e organizzative.
